Focus Area Overview
Money is power, and how we organize our economy determines who gets to live with dignity and who doesn’t. From building women-led financial solutions and systems to advocating for economic policies that prioritize people over profit, WILPF builds alternatives to exploitative systems. Economic justice means everyone has what they need through transformed systems that distribute resources equitably and democratically. We also connect economic exploitation to militarism, understanding that war economies divert resources from human needs while concentrating wealth in the hands of weapons manufacturers and corporations.
Women, Money & Democracy Issue Committee
The Women, Money & Democracy issue committee works to build a just, participatory democracy by advancing feminist economic literacy, monetary reform, and systems change through organizing and education that follows the money. Members meet monthly.
