We are pleased to announce the hiring of Lamia (Mia) Sadek for the position of managing director of WILPF US. Mia's international work, cross sector collaboration and nonprofit and private sector experience made her stand out among the many applicants.
Cathy and Alex Deppe of Los Angeles WILPF joined hands with Japanese peace activists during conferences commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and members of the Boston Branch brought a message of solidarity to the consulate in Boston.
As of this writing enough Senators say they will vote in support of the Iran Deal to keep the US a part of this potentially momentous agreement. Some legislators are already under tremendous pressure to change their votes.

Some 20 WILPF members, from Philadelphia, Boston, Vermont and a few from farther afield gathered to hear reports on a range of political issues, all in the bucolic setting of Robin Lloyd’s family farm in Rochester, Vermont.

The US Section of WILPF wholeheartedly supports the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) aka the “Iran Nuclear Deal,” and strongly urges Congress to vote in favor of the resolution supporting it.
