Carol is born and raised on the Pacific West Coast and is a long-time lover of the
California ocean, mountains, clouds, and hills covered in poppies. She became aware
of projects, movements, and legislation that threatened the diverse life in her home
state and decided to get involved. The first protest she ever attended was an anti-Diablo
Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (located in San Luis Obispo) protest and since then, she
has devoted her attention to many other actions for peace and justice, not only for
people but for all who know this planet as their home. She firmly believes we are all
connected.
Carol’s journey with WILPF US began in 2023, and is honored to be on its Board as the
Nominating Committee Chair. She brings 25 years of high school teaching experience.
Managing a classroom and all it entails honed her organizational skills, communication
skills, and time management. Most importantly, though, it was her empathy and
compassion for others that not only grew but became her most important assets.
Knowing how well these served her as a teacher, Carol hopes these will do the same in
this next chapter of her life with WILPF US.
