Jane Addams Branch: Monthly Meetings and Updates

Jane Addams, The National Women's History Museum

The JA Branch holds meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Our next meeting, scheduled for January 15, 2025, will feature Korea Peace Now. As always, all WILPF US leaders and members are welcome to share news or questions during these calls, which are now open to all WILPF US members.

While we believe in the value of in-person connections with WILPF sisters, we recognize this is not always possible. The JA Branch exists to ensure all members can stay connected, receive news from the “WILPF US branches listserv,” and participate in monthly meetings.

Our meetings occur on the third Wednesday of each month, except December. Join us for these upcoming events:

January 15, 2025: Featuring speakers from Korea Peace Now!

February 19, 2025: Welcoming Carron Little, artist and director of the Chicago Women’s History Center, presenting her project on unpaid labor in America.

Guest speakers for March through November 2025 are being finalized. Past meetings can be viewed on YouTube at WILPFUSToday in the “Branch Videos” playlist.

Recent highlights from our 2024 meetings include presentations by Laura George and Judith Hand (March and October), who shared their new initiatives:

  • The Founding Mothers Movement (FMM) launches its Weekly Worldwide Wakeup campaign on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at noon in every time zone. Join the virtual Launch Rally at 11:00 am ET on New Year’s Day. The campaign encourages making “Good Noise” every Wednesday at noon through activities like singing, blowing bird whistles, playing musical instruments, and banging pots. Events can be as brief as 5 minutes or longer at public venues.

All WILPF US members are welcome to attend our monthly meetings and share news or questions. Watch for eAlerts the week before each meeting with this link to register.

Remember: The Jane Addams Branch is here for all members, especially those without access to a local branch.
