WILPF works to achieve through peaceful means world disarmament, full rights for women, racial and economic justice, an end to all forms of violence, and to establish those political, social, and psychological conditions which can assure peace, freedom, and justice for all.
WILPF is a membership organization with active sections around the world. In countries with an active section, individuals living in those countries may become WILPF members if they share WILPF’s Aims and Principles and support WILPF financially. In the U.S., if you agree with those WILPF Aims and Principles, you can become a member by paying annual dues .(See the WILPF US Principles and Policies)
Membership in WILPF US automatically includes membership in WILPF International as well as in the branch closest to where you live. (If no branch is reasonably close to you, you become a “member at large”; however, WILPF US also has a virtual branch for at-large members. Please email info@wilpfUS.org for more information on the Jane Addams Branch, the WILPF US virtual branch for at-large members.)
WILPF membership includes other benefits:
- As a member of WILPF, you will be a part of our global network, connected to women (and men) working for peace all over the world.
- Members play integral roles in governing WILPF US and in shaping our programmatic work. Only members may join our issue committees, hold leadership roles on the national board, or serve as official delegates to national and international conferences.
- Members also receive a free subscription to WILPF US’s magazine Peace and Freedom, as well as the periodic eNews emails and action eAlerts – providing updates on WILPF national and branch actions and on issues related to WILPF’s campaigns and programs.
- By joining WILPF you can also become connected to local organizing. We will help you contact the local branch – or the virtual branch – of WILPF, working at the community level in your area.
Be a part of the worldwide movement for peace and justice! If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the Membership Coordinator at info@wilpfus.org.
